Beat the Winter Blues!!!

Blue is considered a cool color that elicits feelings of peace, tranquility and relaxation.

Different shades of blue can be added to any room through paint, window panels, pillows, and accessories to create a soothing space.

Midnight, sapphire, and cerulean blue are some of my favorites.

Deerhead revamp

Renovation of the Deerhead Hot Dog restaurant in the Cannery shopping center on Lancaster Pike in Wilmington Delaware.

Though the hot dog and "special sauce" remain unchanged from the traditional recipe, the restaurant itself endured a major remodeling into a more contemporary and sleek decor. Feather Your Nest, LLC and Todd Danner from ArQitecture were responsible for the project's design and architectural transformations.

Colorful accessories for the kitchen.....

Adding some vibrant color through use of accessories is an easy way to transform any kitchen and there is no need to repaint the entire space if it is looking drab. Your kitchen is a creative place, so don't be afraid to use strong colors for accent.

I used a variety of jewel toned accessories to enhance these shelves and mixed in some glass and stemware to add a little sparkle.

Dining room staging on a small budget for home in Old New Castle, Delaware

  • Removed clutter from the room
  • Repainted the room a soft, neutral color
  • Staged a dining table by adding miscellaneous chairs that were sprayed the same color, and creating a tasteful centerpiece
  • Added new hardware and panels with tiebacks to the windows to create more light in the area
  • The final touches of artwork and soft lighting complete the room

One of my favorite master bedroom transformations - home staging

  • Remove unnecessary clutter from the room
  • Repaint the room as well as the back of the book shelves a warm neutral color
  • Replace heavy artwork with a mirror to reflect light into the area
  • Substitute the oversized leather chair blocking the focal point (fireplace) with a smaller, upholstered chair
  • Add new white linens to the bed
  • The final touches of a subtle pop of color from new vases on the mantel, fresh pillows, soft new lighting and an orchid for the side table are added
